City Of Upper Arlington
The City of Upper Arlington was incorporated in 1918 and has since grown into a primarily residential community of approximately 34,000 residents. The City covers approximately 9.67 square miles and enjoys a convenient location as a first-ring suburb of Columbus, with easy access to downtown, the airport and major highways.
Upper Arlington is run under the Council/Manager form of government, combining the strong political leadership of elected officials with the strong managerial experience of an appointed manager.
Having recently adopted a new Master Plan, the community's leaders and city staff are undertaking a major endeavor to revitalize and realize the community's vision for the future. The Master Plan serves as a guiding document to preserve and enhance the quintessential residential nature of Upper Arlington, while encouraging the development of existing commercial areas as higher-density mixed-use centers.
Upper Arlington residents take pride in their community and are actively involved in numerous organizations, volunteer boards, business associations, government commissions, cultural and recreational activities, and more.
