Community Events
Residents take a personal role in keeping the community beautiful by taking part in the Upper Arlington Civic Association's annual Civic Pride Day. Volunteers from throughout the community pitch in to pick up and spruce up public places.
The merchants of Tremont Center share their appreciation with the community by putting on an April Fools Breakfast each year. Hundreds of residents stop by the shopping center each spring to enjoy a free hearty hot breakfast and walk through the petting zoo.
Volunteer members of the Civic Association coordinate the city's signature event, the annual Fourth of July celebration. The daylong event begins with a community wake-up call, a great parade with floats contributed by different neighborhoods, a concert in the park, a fitting fireworks display and a twilight street dance. The event never ceases to spawn block parties, family get-togethers and high school reunions.
Athletes and adventurers of all ages find fun activities year-round through the city's Parks and Recreation programs. Social, cultural, educational, recreational and health-related programs are all part of the department's offering.
The classes, seminars and activities hosted through the Upper Arlington Senior Center and the Lifelong Learning and Leisure program ensure that UA residents know it's never to old to live and learn.
Local restaurants, caterers and other businesses share their wares with the community during the Chamber's annual Taste of UA. It's the culinary occasion of the summer as residents vote to see which of their favorite UA eateries walk away with the coveted blue ribbons.
UA residents enjoy and purchase the works of artists from around the country during each year's Labor Day Arts Festival. The event never fails to draw fun and interesting exhibits, and gives dozens of volunteer organizations the chance to educate and enlist the help of the community.
If you like your neighborhood likeable and lively, UA's the place to be.
