Two established design companies collided in January of 2010 and formed New Avenue Architects and Engineers to create a distinctive type of design firm able to offer fully integrated architectural and engineering capabilities to commercial and residential clients. Greg Miller and Rob Miller (unrelated), who co-founded M2 Design Group; Michael j. Maistros, who established New Avenue Architects; and Brent Racer have all four united to become New Avenue, LLC, serving as principals of the firm of which has two other employees…and are hiring another this summer. Together they bring over 90 years of experience in structural engineering and architecture to the Upper Arlington area and offer a unique pool of talent to Ohio developers and builders. Two of the principals have master degrees in architecture; one of these principals is licensed in four states and is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and NCARB. Additionally, the team includes two professional engineers who are licensed in 12 states. Both engineers have also earned the designation of Certified Professional Building Designer (CPBD) from NCBDC and AIBD. In addition, two members of the team are also accredited Green Verifiers through the National Green Building Certification by NAHB. These accreditations are in keeping with the company's focus on sustainable building in and beyond central Ohio.

New Avenue provides engineering services to numerous architectural firms, steel supply and lumber companies, concrete contractors, builders, and general contractors for unique projects such as the 80-room Berlin Grande Hotel in Amish country utilizing energy-efficient insulated concrete forms rather than wood framing, and has developed residential model home plans for Habitat for Humanity and Oak Park subdivisions extensively, among others. The principals have also had a hand in the design of many high-profile light commercial, industrial, and multi-family projects, including the Ohio Sinus Institute, Columbus Civic Theatre, Treboni Funeral Home, TextbooksRus, Callahan's bar, and Glenford Village Condominiums and currently on the drawing board is a project for the owners of the iconic Newport Music Hall building – deck top patio along High Street across from the OSU campus. The vision of the company is to offer fully integrated building and design services to their clients…with a harmonic approach.

New Avenue, LLC is active in various organizations including AIA, BIA, Green Building Initiative, ASCE, Worthington Chamber of Commerce, Upper Arlington Chamber of Commerce, BBB, and Habitat for Humanity. They provide a wide array of architectural services, structural and mechanical engineering, as well as interior design, planning, construction administration, and field inspection services.
